Another great line from the "media baseball expert" - 5/3/07

Anyone see Buster Olney tonight? ESPN's baseball "expert" Buster Olney said tonight that "Gary Mathews, Jr. has gotten off to a slow start this season, and the Angels might be looking to add Figgins right into the lead off spot when he comes back"

Mathews:G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI SB BA OBP SLG
Season 29 115 21 34 6 1 2 9 6 296 .359 . 417

He then said during Yankee/Ranger clips, it showed Derek Jeter with his usual chopper into the hole to extend his hitting streak, "Derek Jeter, off to a great start this season"

Jeter: G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI SB BA OBP SLG
Season 24 101 20 34 3 0 2 8 2 .337 .404 .426

They have had IDENTICAL seasons so far. The media tells us one guy is "struggling, the other, "great". Now folks, you will not see or read this anywhere. During Jeter's 19 game hitting streak, he has 16 runs scored, and 3 RBI. This is considered "smoking". I love you guys. Where else would I find all this material? Restivo, please explain, how can you have 8 RBI batting second on the Yankees, and be having a "great" season? He has three doubles. Please help me, I'm laughing over here. JB
