Reggie Jackson's LCS numbers were terrible, why? - (10/10/06)

I know that this is a stretch, but I feel that sometimes this Mr. October thing for Reggie gets taken a little too far. Nothing against Reggie, I just do not believe in any "big game player" theories. Francesa and Russo were analyzing Reggie's World sreies numbers and just drooling. Mike was saying things like, "when the big game came, Reggie was ALWAYS there" I'll probably get screamed at for this, but Reggie hit .227 with 20 RBi in 163 at bats in the LCS. Were these games not "big"? Reggie was great, but I think I can rebut all these stupid "money player" things. Reggie went nuts in the World series but did not hit in the LCS, now which is it? I think if there are bad numbers along with good numbers, there is NO theory. there is no such thing as a "big game player" I am a Bill James theorist, am I wrong?11 Lg Chmp Srs 6-5 45 163 16 37 7 0 6 20 17 41 .227 .298 .380 5 World Series 4-1 27 98 21 35 7 1 10 24 15 24 .357 .457 .755
